Sign-up to be in the 2012 Capital Area Local Food Guide

Are you a Merrimack County farm that would like to be in the local food guide for the first time?  Are you a farm that needs to edit last year's listing? Please fill out the Capital Area Local Farm Guide Participation Form and mail, fax, or email it to us.  Please call 603.223.6023 with any questions.  Thank you for participating in District activities.  

Local Food Guide

A Call for Artwork!

Every year the Merrimack County Conservation District produces a Local Food Guide for residents to find information about locally grown foods. This also gives farmers a place to advertise their products. This year the cover of the guide will be determined by a contest. All high school students who live in Merrimack County or attend a high school in Merrimack County are eligible to participate. The students can draw, paint or use any medium which can be effectively reproduced on to a newspaper.  Students must be able to explain how their design relates to local food. The deadline to submit artwork is March 1st.

CPESC and CESSWI Workshops

The Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control is a certification with national standards for knowledge and expertise in erosion and sediment control which is evaluated on a peer review process. A review class for this course will be held on March 26th, 2012 at the NH Department of Transportation.

  

The Certified Erosion Sediment and Storm Water Inspector is a certification to help maintain national standards technical qualifications for inspectors as well as to ensure that inspections are done in compliance with local, state and national laws. A review class for this course will be held on March 30th, 2012 at the NH department of Transportation.

Welcome to the Merrimack County Conservation District

  

The Merrimack County Conservation District is a non-regulatory public agency that works in partnership with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to help land owners and users in Merrimack County manage their soil, water, forest, and other natural resources.  We serve residents, town officials, educators, members of non-profit organizations, and others in the 27 towns in Merrimack County.
