There
are many opportunities to participate in preserving the land,
water and heritage of Merrimack County for future generations.
Our volunteers have:
- helped
students at a local school design an educational boardwalk through
wetlands on school property
- prepared
of bulk mailings of newsletters and bulb sale flyers
- led
activities and staffed conservation booths at local events.
We
are looking for people to:
- file,
do data entry, greet visitors and other general office tasks
- distribute
press releases
- collect
information from our conservation co-operators, enter it into
a data base and analyze the results
- help
set District priorities by serving on our board
as an Associate Supervisor
- write
grants to obtain funds to foster conservation practices and education
- set
up displays at events
- set
up and run a vermicomposting program--we've got the worms and
information if you have the time and interest.
If
you are interested in any of these ideas, or have some of your
own, please call
Stacy Luke at (603) 223-6023 at our Concord office. She will be
happy to talk with you about your interests and skills and MCCD's
current volunteer opportunities with ongoing and one-time events.
